Meet Ernest

With more than 30 years of dance experience and over two decades of teaching, Eric brings a deeply technical, disciplined, and education-focused approach to dance training. Originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, he received his higher education from the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture with a specialization in choreography and qualifications as a ballroom dance choreographer, lecturer, and performing artist.

Throughout his international competitive career, Eric competed in prestigious events including the Blackpool Dance Festival and numerous European National Championship competitions. His accomplishments include becoming a Bronze Medalist in the Ukrainian National Championship in Latin, a U.S. National Finalist in International Latin, and a finalist and medalist in New York, New Jersey, and Chicago Smooth competitions.

Prior to moving to the United States, Eric owned and directed three dance studios in Ukraine and served as the organizer and director of the Red Castle Cup Dancesport Competition. His extensive training includes coaching from internationally recognized professionals such as Klaus Kongsdal, Sergey Surkov & Melia, and Peter Maxwell.

Known for his structured, analytical, and highly supportive teaching style, Eric is passionate about helping students understand not only how movement works, but why it works. His lessons emphasize technical precision, body mechanics, musicality, discipline, and intelligent movement development, while still fostering creativity and individuality within each dancer.

At the core of Eric’s teaching philosophy is the belief that dance education extends far beyond the dance floor. Through movement, discipline, and partnership, he strives to help students develop confidence, responsibility, resilience, and the skills needed to grow not only as dancers, but as individuals.
